Start Problem - Fixed! 850

Dear All

Had a dodgy no-start problem in Saturday. I took a run and stopped for 10mins to get a coffee, got back in the car and turned the key. All I could here was 'click'.

Well I checked the battery cables/connections and everything was fine. So I took off the cover for the relays by the fuse box. Seemed okay. By now I was able to start the car.

The only problem I found was the small metal cable that runs from the back of the motor and connects to the bodywork. When I checked the connection to the body work it came off in my hand. So I put a bolt through the bodywork and tightened it up. What a major difference!! No start problems since. And all because of a poor connection.

I also noticed that this cable runs near the pipes that got to and from the EVAP. On a hot day with a/c on these get wet. I think the metal 'earth' cable was touching these causing the a/c to click on and off.

Check it out maybe your a/c has the same problem.

Thanks for all your help.
