How to Tell 850 1995

I guess the number of doors was translated to the first letter when the S70 came out.
"S" would be the sedan or 4 doors (S40, S70, S80)
"V" would be for Wagon or 5 doors (V70)
"C" would stand for Coupe or 2 doors (C70)

Now the "XC" or cross country seems to break from the door designation equation.
