Oil leaking out of oil cap. 850 1996

Hello again,

My 1996 850 Turbo is leaking some oil out of the cap. I was told by a somewhat knowledgeable Volvophile to replace the oil cap gasket, so I sent the wife to the dealer to get one.

The service guy asked her why she needed it. Surprisingly, many times a woman does not know why she was sent to the dealer to get an oil cap gasket. The service guy laughed & kept prodding for information what she was doing. He then enundated her with "Well I have 10 years' experience & you obviously have too much manifold pressure blah blah blah blah." Imagine a service writer being a jackass! I'm not casting aspersions at all; I too have a job working with the public. However, I don't spew out all my credentials to people who obviously don't know or don't care. Anyway, sorry for the soapbox speech.

During his incessant ramblings, he printed off an exploded diagram part of the breather system (probably has a more accurate name) and said that likely one of these tubes/pipes/fittings is clogged. Which makes sense.

My question: I'm a fairly long-term Volvo owner and know that if I'm having this problem, 10,000 others have also. Is there any guidance someone can give me with this experience? Where should I look first?

As always, many thanks for your help on this.
