Oxygen Sensor S80 1999

Thank you for the comments. They claim the sensor is not a covered item. I'm going to investigate that myself. I do/did have a pretty good relationship w/ them (serviced 3 volvo there over the yrs.). I'm not trying to get nasty w/ them but will fight to defend my rights and not let them get away w/ dirty tricks as they clearly tried to pull here (that is, the service dept.) I'm planning on doing nothing unless they start something, as mentioned I have the sensor, no more codes, 45k done and did not have to pay. I'm sitting pretty. I do think it's clearly unprofessional of them to add the sensor repair to the 45k bill and hope (since they never mentioned it to me) that I would just pay the total of $645.00. I was suprised that the partner agreed w/ me (he was being fair) that I could have it removed and immed. took the cost off the bill once I said I was not notified and wanted it removed! I agree w/ you they don't have the old part AND will not want to spend unbillable labor time (1.2 HR)on removing it.

I have 3 other dealerships in the area. I think it's time to switch. I do know that dealerships make (try in my case) a lot of their $$$ of course, from repairs the longer the better (@ $90/hr.). If I require more expensive repairs in the near future on a car with just 45K miles, I'm getting rid of the S80 and going for a quality approach (like, a car that is acxtually reliable and has low maint. costs, seems Volvo has a problem with that, Lexus does not).

Indy are cheaper but if they don't have the Vadis it won't help me much w/ an S80. I love the car, it's among the fastest/coolest car around.
