S80 T6 Trans problems S80 1999

I have a 99 S-80 T6. The transmission was burning up. Dealer wanted $4,400 Canadian to replace it. Transmission shop fixed it for $2800 Canadian. It is a GM transmission with a few volvo gaskets. The shop had to find these, volvo does not sell them. Upon getting the car back it immediately developed starter trouble. The dealer has given up & says it does not know what to do to fix it. The computer says it is a sensor on the top of the transmission but they have checked that & it is not broken. Their next suggestion is to replace the wire harness. A six week job $3,500. I love & hate my car.
