Any tips to refilling cooling system? 850 1995

I replaced the water pump on my S70 a couple of weeks ago. I refilled through the overflow tank with a 50/50 mix of Volvo coolant and distilled water. After 3 or 4 days the low coolant light started "blinking", so I topped off- no problem since. It really shouldn't matter how you fill, as long as you fill! You will probably have to top off again through the overflow either way.
