cd changer 850 1996

not really.

my changer is mounted below the floor, with a cover over it, with a lid. Just pull cover off, like yo udo the other panels on the floor. You may have the above floor mounted changer, with a plastic slide off cover over it??

Anyway, undo the two plgs (din plug and the multiplug) and unbolt mounting from floor.

Unscrew mounting from the changer.

The remove the 6 or 8 ish cross head screws which hold the top cover in place.

With this off, see if a disc is out of the casette, in the play position. Coax back into the cassette carefully (I use a thin flat blade screwdriver) and if yo ulook the the rear of the cassette, mounted on the changer chassis/frame, there's a little lever thingy, which if you push in with screwdriver, will eject the cassette.

A couple of times I've done this job, I unscrewed every screw in sight!! But it's easy to put back together, even if you undo the screws which locate the 'shock absorbers' (the things that allow you to drive and stop cd's jumping - there are 4, 1 in each corner)

Any problems, e-mail kevin.loomes@btinternet.com

I can photo a spare unit
