Lug nut thread lubrication/ To lube or not to lube? 850

Just went outside and thought I would rotate my tires (front to back) but
unfortunately the last time I had the car at my indy shop he most likely
used the air wrench to tighten my lug nuts. Hence I cannot break them loose, even with my gorilla wrench. Just wondered if it is safe to put some kind of lubricant, (i.e. graphite or the silver stuff) on the lug threads in the future when I can get them off?
