Front end is loose

I had the same problem with 2000 V70. The problem is not severe. Volvo has had chronic defect issue with Link Stabilizer bar bushings going bad. My left side went bad at 46k, and the right at 48k, both replaced under warranty. Now at 62k, I'm starting to hear that subtle clunking again. Our dealership is selling this part like hot cakes. Your dealer should be familiar with this issue. This Link Stabilizer bar is the vertical rod (approx 3/8' thick and about 12" long connected at the bottom to the sway bar and at the top to strut assembly. Look behind the fron wheel and you will see it. The connecting bushings at each end are what goes bad. Good luck.
