I drove with the parking brake on - it screamed. 850

I love my Volvo 850 but today I did a stupid thing, I was on the way to a funeral so was a little preoccupied with the procedings, see I am a Pastor and was about to take the ceremony.

I set off to reverse and had left the parking brake ON. There was a high pitched whine until I realised I had left the lever up.

I had driven only about 100 foot. I am scared my transmission will fail, I checked the oil in the gearbox and it seem reddish and didn't smell burned.

What do you think, have I done eternal damage to my chariot?

Thanks for a great site, many times I read it and find lots of interesting articles.
