Noise in FWD 850

I own a 95, 850 wagon with 335,000+ miles. Recently, I have begun to hear a, speed variable thumping noise in the FWD. The noise only appears when the vehicle is turned to the right. No noise is detected traveling straight ahead or cornering to the left. I recently rotated the tires with no change in the noise but, both front tires had a very even wear pattern. While the vehicle was off the ground it was inspected, by myself and I could not detect any looseness in any of the steering or FWD components. I am leaning toward a bearing or CV joint problem but, can't figure out why I don't hear the noise all of the time. As this is begining to seem like a major repair I am despeately looking for some help.
