dash switch pinout

im trying to add a trip computer to my 96 NA 850. I got the switch volvo pn 9128543, it has a yellow back.

question is the VADIS printout the parts guy gave me (he was really helpful) shows the switch going on the third position to the right of the wheel. Well that connector doesnt fit, i did find a dead plate with a connector the same color as the switch (yellow) to the left of the wheel to the right of the door lock button. The connector fits.

interestingly the pins dont line up though there is no wire on spot 3 and 4 have no wires going to them. However there are connectors on the trip computer switch in those spots.

so anyone with a 96 or 96 and a trip computer what does yours look like? Can you describe the wire color and what spot on the connector it goes to? And on what side of the wheel is yours.

just to note i did notice the vadis got something else wrong, it had 2 bulbs on my current clock / temp where there really is only one. I checked the top of the prinout and it is for the right car.

i havent had the chance to check to see if it works since im still waiting on the salvage dash to come. Id like to figure out as much as i can before then becuase im going on a trip soon and would like to have this working.

thanks guys.
