Radiator fan running S70 1999

Hi- I have a question: After driving my mom's '99 S70 (base) with the a/c running for a long time, the radiator fan remains running even after I turn the car off. It will stay on for at least five minutes before it shuts down by itself. However, I find this to be a big nuisance that when I hear the fan running, I have to start the engine again (with the a/c off), let it run for at least a minute, then shut it off again. The fan will then shut off with the engine. Is it normal for S70s, and 850s, to do this sort of thing?
