Cabin Filter Retro Fit Kit 850 1994

Caught this item for sale on EBay. I understand it is used to filter cabin air, but it's primary purpose is to trap dirt that might wind up in the evaporator. Since I've already been a victim of evaporator failure. .mine was replaced 4 years ago (painful $$$). .can anyone tell me about this filter kit? Is it worth it? Where in the car is it located? How difficult is the installation? Thanks for any help.
