Drive train problems 850 AWD wagon 850 1997

Ted

I have not experienced the shudder you mention. If you are interested, I will provide the email addresses of a few other 850awd owners. You can post your request for information to the group to see if someone else has information that might be helpful.

I recall recent discussion about the driveline hanger bearing. That *might* be the culprit.

You mention turning out a driveway. Are you referring to a turn with the steering at full lock? The binding that you describe might be entirely normal in that situation. I believe Bay 13 has instructions to lubricate the turning stops to prevent or reduce that binding/grinding sound.

My wagon has travelled almost exacxtly the same distance an yours - 169k km.

I had the recalls for rear control ams and seat heater performed recently. No perceptible difference. I also just had the dreaded evaporator failure fixed - mostly labour as the entire dash had to be removed.
