Turbo needed V70-XC70

Thought about rebuilding yourself? The parts are about $100, and you'll need a couple tools (snap ring pliers, probably 2 sizes). If you can locate a friendly machine shop, you can get the old unit acid-cleaned and the new shaft spin-balanced. This cost me $50 four years ago. My total cost was under $200, took me an afternoon to do the whole thing.

Or....you can remove the cartridge yourself, send it out for rebuilding ($400), then re-install. You need to be able to live without the car for a couple days while the unit is in transit.
