breaks, do it myself? 850 1995

I need help! I had my break pads and disks replaced 6 months ago and now I hear a rhythmic sorta grinding noise when I break (in the back) and also an annoying sqeaking noise in the front (and back I think). (there is also a metal on metal kind of sound that increases with speed asI begin to get going. I think the rotors are warped (just from reading other postings). Anyhow, I think I can fix this myself with the proper guidance. Does anyone have any crucial advice (other than go to a garage?) Or does anyone know an honest Volvo mechanic in the DC metro area???? I'd appreciate ANY help!! Truly, I have no idea what I am doing but I am broke and need an adventure.
