High temperature 850 1995

Hi Ronjon;
I have my '95 850 in the Indy tranny shop today and this is why I asked about the brown/burnt ATF. The mechanic cannot get the phenomena I always get to happen for him. (Always the way!)
I was going to have him add an in-line filter for me and he immediately recommended AGAINST it. He told me they get clogged to easily and also gives you another potential spot for leaks. He just can't figure out how my fluid looks so bad after only 11,000 miles. He told me there must be a reason for this. Beats the heck out of me. I thought everywhere I have read recently, they suggested changing the fluid every 30,000 miles. It souinds like you are saying I should change it even sooner than 10,000. This Indy mechanic was also going to install my additonal cooler for me but after what you said maybe that too is not such a good idea. I will let you know what he suggests and happens.

Thanks!
