95 850 gas tank leak 850

My gas tank started leaking, but it's leaking from the top, the gas runs down the tank from somewhere up above. Could this be a seal that is leaking or a line? I would like any input on what this could be before I take the car in for repair. Being a woman I need all the information I can get before I go to a mechanic. Any Houstonions out there that can refer me to a RELIABLE volvo mechanic? I love my car and want to keep it running.
