Discolored Band on Brake rotors 850

Greetings Brickboarders,

Recently I replaced my well worn front brake pads with a set
bought from a reputable indy shop here in town (they were
the PBR brand).

2 weeks later, I just noticed that there is a discolored band
on both front rotors, a dark color, like it might be caused by
excessive heat buildup.

I took a few photos, and have temporarily posted them here:

Does anyone think this is cause for alarm? The brakes feel like
they are stopping okay (but dont feel like they have quite as much
"grab" as my other 855, which probably has stock volvo pads).

thanks,
-jas
