1993 850 Transmission Code 2-2-2 850

Mike,
Thanks for all the words. I've had to park the car until next week. I plan to get into it then.
I had a couple questions regarding the text you sent:
In step 2 it cites to connect measuring unit to TCM (Trans Control Module???). Is this on the firewall/fender? Not sure what is meant. Is the measuring unit the volt/ohmmeter meter? Where are the pins 20 and 28??

You stated that the car should be shifted manually. When I do this, the car still takes off in 3rd. After reset, it does the same. Periodically, it will shift through the gears normally!!

Is test position 4 accessed through the A1 code port? I mean go to the transmission codes and then activate test mode (while in the A1 pin)?? What is the benefit of the 2X versus 10X code transmission rate.

Do you know what the P/N is for the S2 solenoid? I would attempt to change it if necessary. Most of the locals will do more harm than good!

Again, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your time to input all the info you provided.
Thomas
