Wheel Bearing or CV joint? 850 1994

I have a continuous rumble noise from my right front which souunds like a wheel bearing on the way out. I do not get a clunk when I turn around at full lock in a parking lot, but the sound is slightly louder when making a left turn under some speed. It definitly sounds more like a wheel bearing than a CV joint to me, but I have never heard an 850 CV joints start to go.
My Haynes manual says the wheel bearing lasts the life of the car. Does it mean my car is getting ready to die?
