Volvo s70, no brake lights S70 1998

From Brickboard, I learned that the "light out" relay will only fire if a bulb is actually out - a current break has to be occurring. This set me up for my parking-lot diagnostic:

Pulled the headlamp connection, got the "light out" dummy light. Rules out the relay.

Pulled the brake lamp bulbs - kinda blackish, some signs of corrosion inside the bulb, replaced both. Still no brake lights (not even the LED).

Spoke with my mechanic and local fellow s70 driver - decided to go mess with the brake light switch (up against the brake pedal support - still in the parking lot). Somehow, I jiggled either the connection or the switch and the lights are firing. I am considering replacing the switch, though packing with dielectric grease may help.

Thanks!

Josh
