Engine 'stutters' while stopped w/ A/C on 850 1996

While stopped (in Drive) at lights and stop signs, I have been experiencing the engine "stuttering"--as if the the engine is missing or almost stalling (slight tach drop), it also is a bit sluggish on acceleration with the A/C on. It happens primarily with the Air conditioning on but does do it less frequently with the A/C off. I thought maybe dirty injectors or even bad gas, but that it only really happens frequently with the A/C on would seem to indicate some sort of A/C problem.

Also, any recommendations for Indy mechanics in the Oak Park area? Shepard does great work, but book-jobs at $85/hr. are killing me!
