steering V70-XC70 1998

We had a problem with tight steering on our V70 earlier this year. Turned out to be a corroded lower U-joint. 3 hours in the shop and a $85Cdn part later and we have perfect steering again. It's not something that is commonly checked, we discovered, as we had to tell our Volvo service guys what to do rather then them telling us what the problem was. We read on this board that U-joint problems are common on RWD Volvos so we did some investigating under the car and discovered the U-joint was the culprit.
