OIL SEPERATOR 850 1996

ON MY VOLVO 850 THERE IS A HOSE THAT COMES FROM THE VALVE COVER THAT RUNS BELOW THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. MY QUESTION IS THAT ON EVERY PICTURE OF MY ENGINE TYPE THIS HOSE IS NONEXISTENT.IT GOES TO THE OIL SEPERATOR LOCATED UNDER THE INTAKE.IS THIS SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED OR REDESIGNED AS I HAD TO UNHOOK TO STOP SERIOUS BLOWBACK OF OIL FROM MY OIL CAP.ALL HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.
