thinking about another make of car 850 1996

Here's a question to the good folks here on the brickboard, especially those witlling to entertain some blasphemy for a while. Bought my 850 sportwagon a couple of months ago with some doubts as to the overall quality of the deal and the car. Turns out the deal was bad, and the car seems so-so to a sinkhole of money. This seems to be a familiar refrain in this forum. I'm thinking about other makes of wagons, my partner in crime/spouse is really down on volvos, and I'm trying to find something else that might work and make everybody reasonably happy, safe, and quick. Money is an issue too, as it generally seems to be. I'm thinking about an Audi, but know little about them. Any suggestions (Audis, in general, etc)?
