ATF change!!! 850 1992

Were it mine, I'd go ahead with a full flush. However, you can do it more slowly.
I may be wrong, but don't think there is a drain plug on the ATF pan. You can siphon up what is in the pan by putting a tube down the dipstick. (Marine shops and some auto parts stores sell small pumps which go on the end of a 3/8 inch drill and they work pretty well). Pull out what you can, replace with fresh. Drive for a while to mix, and repeat the procedure.
Then run it a while and see if there is any improvement. If there are no problems, repeat the operation. Once the fluid is pretty well cleaned up, and as long as it is running ok, consider doing a full flush with a good synthetic ATF.
