It's more likely to be a bad electronic throttle module or mass airflow meter. If it's the ETM, it'll need SW to work so that's not a DIY job, dealer only. Don't waste your time removing and cleaning the ETM as that wouldn't be the issue with your complaint. Someone here is bound to suggest trying that too.
I doubt it's fuel related but if so, one needs to check fuel pressure with a guage, not guess.
