Hose change - Hose failure odds. V70-XC70

This is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but I would save my $$$ for a new radiator instead!

We have driven 7 bricks over the last 8 years so far including -

'88 745 GLE 8 years from 113,000 to 233,000 miles
'90 744 Turbo 5 years from 153,000 to 230,000 miles

All cars are over 100,000 miles save one

We have replaced exactly 1 hose, 3 thermostats, and 2 radiators. The bad hose showed obvious signs of swelling.

I don't know why, but Volvo hoses seem to last. See how others answer, but I have not seen many hose failure stories here, but several radiator woes.

I would consider doing the thermostat, but from what I have read, they often fail open, giving good warning on the temp gauge.
