Rough running after sitting 850 1995

I own a 1995 850 GLT with 53k. The car is in beautiful shape. About two months ago I took it off the road. The other day I tried starting it for the first time. At first it wouldn't start and kept on stalling. My first thought was that perhaps somehthing was plugging the exhaust pipe. After another try the car started. It seemed to be running fine at this point, but then I noticed that the downshift light was now blinking and there was a ticking coming from the engine. I can't figure this one out. Does anyone have any thoughts. Thanks in advance.
