water in my dashboard 850 1996

I have a 1996 850 wagon, with a leak that lets in the rain. After a rain, I can hear water sloshing inside the dashboard. It drips onto the flooor from in front of the SRS on the passenger side.

Could this water be coming in through the air intakes located in front of the windshield wipers? There were some leaves clogging the tubes that drain that area, and the water might have backed up to where it entered those intakes. What are those intakes for?

Where else should I look to find the entry point of the water?
