No S70 1999

model year '99 and newer engines have a mechanical tensioner that needs to be replaced with t-belt every 105K miles. Replacing the t-belt is no different than other models, but the mechanical tensioner has to be installed and positioned correctly or premature failure of t-belt leads to engine damage. No software is needed. Even ambient temp is taken into account when position the new tensioner.
The concensus here is to let an experienced master tech (the Dealer) replace both.
