brake squeel 850

recently changed the front rotors and pads on my 97 855. Now they squeel like crazy whenever I apply light pressure on them. Annoying to say the least. I went with the English brand of pads, as someone had posted that they experienced no noise. The rotors I put on are Zimmerman's, which appear to work well.
The other issue is that now the abs light keeps coming on intermittently. One person I spoke to suggested that I bleed the brakes, since when changing the pads, I pushed the slave cylinders in with a set of pliers without using the bleed nipples to release fluid. Could this cause an error in the braking system? At times when applying the brakes the peddle shudders and then the light comes on. The dealer wants $125 just to read the fault code, sorry but that to me is a rip off. Just to plug in a computer to read a 4 digit code.... Time to find another dealer perhaps.

Any ideas on these issues?

Your answers, thoughts are appreciated.

Andy
