S40 maintenance S40-V40

Thanks for your reply! You just saved me $25 that the wrenches are going for on eBay. I use Mobil1 on all my cars as well. I don't think this particular car was maintained w/ Mobil1 in the past (dlr oil changes). However, I will start with the first oil change and I am thinking of doing it before the 7500 mile interval since it shows 10W-30 was used last time and the cold weather is coming here in Boston. I put 5W-30 in my cars in the fall/winter.

I have yet to get under the car but the oil drain bolt diagram in the manual is a little bit lacking. I'm hoping that the location of the drain bolt and filter will be obvious once I get under there.

I had a pair of the standard yellow metal ramps that you can get at KMart/Walmart/Target, etc. The car just pushed the ramps forward every time I tried to drive up them w/ the last car we had. I can't really get a quick running start because I would be doing this in my garage and can not do it on my driveway since it is sloped quite a bit. Do you think the Rhino Ramps would be any better in this situation? Or maybe I don't need the ramps since it sounds like you were able to change the oil w/o elevating the car?
