850's SRS-sensor location 850 1993

The SRS light on my '93 850 GLT (265K miles) lit recently. I'm told the car's computer has thrown a code indicating that my crash sensor needs replacing. That's an awfully expensive repair so I wanted to attempt it myself.

I've been given conflicting advice on the location of my driver's side crash sensor - either in my bumper or under my driver's seat. When I unbolted my seat the only thing I saw that might be related was a flat black box that seems to be more related to the power seat functions than anything else. I have no idea where the in-bumper sensor might be. Can you advise?

Thanks!

Kyle
