Leaky cam/lifter cover? V70-XC70

There is no gasket for the plastic cover (it is mostly decorative).
What probably happened is some oil spilled while oil was being added
via the filler. This is common. The oil flows under the cover.
Take the plastic cover off and have a look. You can probably
clean it up with a couple of rags.

The other thing to check is the gasket on the oil filler cap itself.
These do leak after a time and need replacing. Yours could be leaking
oil down under the cover. They cost a couple of dollars.
