Transmission V70-XC70 2003

I have a 2003 V70 2.4 with an automatic trans and approx 14,000 miles.
Over the past several weeks I have noticed that when accelerating from a "rolling stop" such as a yield sign or exiting a "fast lane" type, toll booth the car seems to go into neutral for a split second, rev up and then continue on it's way normally. It's almost like it loses traction but it has also happened on a dry road.

Anyone have any ideas on this one, before I take it to the dealer where it certainly won't happen.

thanks
