v70 AWD running rich / stalling when hot V70-XC70

My 2000 v70 AWD has begun to idle and run bad when the engine is hot. It runs fine when cold. The Volvo dealer changed the air mass meter but the problem remains. They also told me that there is gas in the oil (running rich). Is there an engine temperature sensor (not related to the temp guage) that controls the fuel mixture. Coud this sensor not be telling the ECu that the engine is hot (time to run lean) and causing my bad idling and running? Any other sensors that could be causing this problem?
