Quality of aftermarket CMP sensors 850 1994

I replaced my CMP sensor in my 94 850 after diagnostics turned it up as working improperly. The only place I could find it locally was through Advanced Auto Parts store, which cost about $95. The new part, however, looked a little different (maybe less robust) than the original.

I put it in and the car ran fine for about a week, then it started to experience similar problems as to what I had before I replaced the CMP originally. Now it only runs when it wants to. Then I got on the internet and found this awesome website and also discovered that this part usually costs about $153 online.

My questions: Is it possible the CMP sensor went bad again because of a cheap aftermarket part? Has anyone experienced a CMP sensor going bad that fast? No diagnostic code is popping up now for the CMP, but I've read on this board that it doesn't always show a code. In fact, there are NO codes! Please help!
