V70T5 Mk2 service interval. V70-XC70 2003

My message center has just started to show the " Regular service required" message.... But I only have 3,800 miles total in this vehicle, is this normal? I thought normal service would be at around the 7,500 mile mark. I mostly drive a mixed commute with fairly long trips. To top it off I did my first oil change with Mobil 1 at 3,500 miles last week!
So what is supposed to be the normal service interval?
