In-Dash Cup Holder V70-XC70 2001

Hi,
Same thing happened to me. I had my in-dash cup holder ratchet mechanism go twice. On a service visit at 44.5K, I asked them to replace it a third time. Received new "lame" cup holder this time around. Asked "what gives...where's the ratchet thingey?" Was told that Volvo is going to new ratchetless design because of all the repairs. I am bummed because the ratchet thingey actually made the cup holder a better french fry holder and cell phone holder.

Well, its minor really. Look at my post re: my transmission woes!
