gear selector locked V70-XC70 1998

Yes, it is in the brake pedal assembly. In the V40, there is a faint but audible click when you push down on the brake, evidencing the failsafe has been bypassed and the shift unlocked. When mine went, there was no click. As I said, not sure if they used them in 98, or on the V70, but worth a call to the dealer in any case.
