Could be you have some carbon on the backs of the intake valves which soaks up the first batch of fuel.

Try a treatment of AMSOIL PI (6 oz per 10 gal in full tank), BG 44K (can in a tankful) or Redline SI (don't know ration). Inexpensive, can't do any damage, might solve your problem.
