Yellow arrow, in a standard??? 850

I have a 1993 Volvo 850 GLT, 5 speed transmission. This morning on my way to work, a yellow arrow pointing up came on. I was under the impression by reading here, its a warning light, similar the the Check Engine, but for an automatic transmission??

Please tell me that I am right, and its not a stupid upshift light that has decided to work again. I have been driving a standard for 15 years, I know when to shift gears!! If Im wrong, what kind of error can make this come on in a standard?? I dont get ANYTHING from the diagnostic unit, not even a 1-1-1!!

Thanks,

Tony!!
