Front Axle Nut - Removing? 850 1994

In the course of replacing the right front ball joint on my 94 850 Wagon , I spread the cast iron steering knuckle too far and cracked it. I now have to replace the entire knuckle/spindle (I think that is what it is called). I have everything loose except the axle nut which I can't budge. Any suggestions for loosening it? By the way, is it a right hand or left hand thread.
All thoughts and suggestions are welcome.
