SRS Light After Reel Repair 850

Hi Volvo Lovers,

Does anyone know why the SRS light stays on AFTER I repaired the airbag connection reel in the steering column? The reel was damaged when I exceeded the allowable number of steering wheel turns while replacing the steering rack. I opened the reel and reconnected (soldered) the connections and then testing the system for continuity to the airbag connector. I do not see anything wrong with the repaired reel. I would have thought the SRS light would go off after this, but it stay on. I disconnected the battery overnioght and unplugged the computer boards to clear them - but the lamp stays on.

Any advice?

Mike
