Adding OEM fog lights to a '04 V70 2.5T V70-XC70

If you can change your own oil, filters, and spark plugs, you probably have the tools and skills to install your own fog lights, then have the dealer make the software download to activate the function. I installed the OEM kit in my S80; the enclosed instructions were good, and the pre-wired connectors are already installed behind the bumper. The kit (2 lamp assemblies, relay, indicator limp, and fuse) cost less than $150 at an online Volvo parts discounter.

There is one more thing to be wary of. If your vehicle does not have a front foglight switch, you will need a new headlight switch assembly to use the OEM lights. My 2001 S80 already had a fog light switch, but I have read that the newer S80/V70 models do not. It is possible to substitute your own switch (which avoids the software download as well), but that requires some elecrical knowledge.
