Warning Lamp and Message S80 1999

Engine system fix next service usually refers to a minor glitch in a subsystem that reports to the ECM. Last time I saw this message it was due to a faulty speed signal from the ABS system. Could be anything. Best bet is to go to dealer and have codes read from all systems through the CEM. As to the idle hunting, could be a software upgrade, or a clogged vacuum orifice at the manifold conection for the PCV system. Not easy to access. Located under the intake, roughly behind the alternator. There is a TSB on the subject.
