00 XC Multiple Engine Failures V70-XC70 2000

A certified car implies that it was checked thoroughly and things replaced and corrected to bring it up to par.

It appears that this vehicle was traded in and placed on the lot without any inspection.

If I were you, undo the deal now that it is an option, and go for a FWD V70 and buy some good snow tires. Avoid the AWD in these cars, they are not very reliable, have frequent problems and require you to buy 4 new matched tires, even though you mught need only one.
Do a search on beveled gear problems with AWD volvos on this board and you'll see what I am talking about.
